Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing

1
What to Expect in Our EMDR Sessions
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) sessions typically last about 45 minutes. During telehealth, we guide you through bilateral stimulation—this could be eye movements, tapping, or auditory cues—to help process distressing memories. We’ll tailor the method to your comfort and the technology you have.

EMDR in Virtual Reality (VR)
Want a deeper experience? If you have a MetaQuest headset, we can elevate your EMDR sessions into VR. Just let us know, and we’ll connect you to our VR community. No headset? No worries. We offer an equipment program so you can get started or even explore other counseling services beyond EMDR.

Pros and Cons of EMDR
EMDR has powerful benefits. It’s known to help people process trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and phobias. Some cons? It might be emotionally intense and may not be a fit for everyone. That’s why an assessment helps ensure it’s right for your needs.

Common Uses of EMDR
We often use EMDR for trauma, PTSD, anxiety disorders, and even performance anxiety. Your assigned clinician specializes in EMDR and will guide you.
